vintage ghost train Way to fade in..got us a pipeline guitar player here. Yes, the vocals are outstanding. Nicely executed. Yeah, train..harmonies. Definatley original but carries a vintage ghost. Great job with this one. I love it.-- - oldhaulmusic Greenfield, Tennessee Toot Toot with Opium Nice laid back harmonious song. Killer harmonies is what I meant. Nice use of organ. Jazz guitar and bass helps this song flow. Very cool song. It has alot of atmosphere. They need to have more bars with this type of music. Then I would be happy..-- - blackoutfit Laurel Hill, Florida Honky Tonk Country Blues It's like off beat Honky Tonk Country Blues with a dash of Capt. Beefheart thrown in! The lead guitar is PURE AMERICANA. It makes me feel like I'm sittin' in a dive bar on the outskirts of Cheyenne. -- Reviewed by: LenCat from Mountain View, California Stone Canyon Cool This tune has production that reminds me of retro radio. The walking bass line provides a nice bottom end for the singer to croon over. Inspired by both Elvis and Harry Connick Jr., the singer sings with an almost tongue in cheek delivery style. Like he thinks he's too cool to star in this fifties teen movie picture... Seriously the music reminds me of retro country music you'd see on Hee Haw or the Grand Ole Opry. And I don't mean any disrespect by that. I dig that old retro sounding lead guitar line that is so influenced by James Burton. A signature sound is a good thing. This tune accomplishes all it sets out to do and kept me glad that I pick this genre almost once a day to hear music that feels good and is well done. -- Reviewed by: triptofan from Foggy Valley, Iowa Wow Vintage sound of guitar will charm you. Vocal are good too. Very pleasant mix with very amazing mood. i like it. -- demiangrace from Moscow, Russian Federation perfect in every aspect Jazz Oriented drums introduce the track and the some sweet 1950’s style guitar work comes in and then The vocals. Musically this song is a real interesting listen. The lyrics and performance create a real 1957 feel. This is different though because it’s a combination of 1957 meets 1968 Frank Zappa crooning. The production seemed a bit bassy but that can be fixed. The rest of the work was perfect in every aspect. Great song. Extra Credit: Melody, Mood, Originality. -- DPSTANLEY, Blaine, Minnesota Surf Train Revival I dig the guitar work. Mood puts me in a hawaiian boxcar from the 50's which is right up my alley. I love the lyrics and the feel of this tune as I am a big ventures and duane eddy guy. More Reverb!!! -- jidai, Orlando, Florida Americana Is I feel this really nailed the genre of Americana. the train analogy and the sound of the song are just so 1940s America to me; the genre is elusive to define, but I find that this song is accurate. When it comes to mood, that's what it conjures up to me -- a different time, when hobos could hitch rides on freight trains and the nation was a very different place. I think that the "sounds" chosen are very good, especially the twangy rockabilly guitar and cheesy organ in the background. the singer's voice is good; not polished, but well-suited for this type of earnest delivery...an enjoyable journey back in time. Chooo chooooooooO! Extra Credit: Guitars, Mood, Originality. -- P_Dignity, Davis Park, New York Runaway Train The song features a nice little surf guitar and retro organ bit and gets into a mellow groove quickly. The bass line is steady and driving. The guitars are well balanced and the lead is alot of fun. The whole song is relaxed and well conceived. The lead vocalist sounds really cool in parts but there are certain times when I thought he could belt it out with more emotion. This song really did grow on me but there is just a little more work to be done to make this VERY, VERY COOL! Extra Credit: Bass. -- AndrewKowal, Southampton, Massachusetts |
